Cellar doors:

  • Cleveland Winery Estate – explore the underground cellar door.
  • Lyons Will Estate – specialises in pinot noir, chardonnay, gamay and riesling.
  • Curly Flat Winery – produces renowned wines, especially pinot noir and chardonnay.
  • Double Oaks Estate  – boutique cool-climate winery that also recently established its own truffle plantation.
  • Glen Erin – boutique winery with wines only available to purchase direct from the estate.

By appointment only:

  • Wilimee Wines – boutique family operated winery producing pinot noir and chardonnay. 
  • Lanes End Vineyard – producing hand-crafted premium chardonnay and pinot noir.

Walking

Hanging Rock is an Australian icon and a culturally significant Aboriginal site that has a number of walking trails. There’s also plenty of other walking trails and hikes dotted across the region, so be sure to pack your walking shoes.

  • Lancefield Hotel – pub grub with a Thai influence.
  • Glen Erin – enjoy warm country hospitality complete with a roaring fireplace and sunny terrace.
  • The Aspy Cafe – great spot in Lancefield for lunch, with lots of vegan and vegetarian options.
  • Soltan Pepper – cosy, casual restaurant in Romsey that is perfect for a family meal.
  • Verdure Restaurant – our go-to for brunch in Romsey.
  • Lancefield Farmers Market – a must-attend market on the fourth Saturday of each month. Pick up local produce or enjoy a bite to eat and a coffee.

Cycling

The Macedon Ranges offers both road and mountain bike cycling trails. Wombat State Forest has 100km of mountain biking trails to suit all skill levels. A popular ride is also the family friendly 8km loop between Romsey and Lancefield.
